Nut Burgers

Makes 6

  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Butter
  • 8 oz mixed nuts (no peanuts as the taste is too strong, but include some sunflower seeds as they are cheaper than nuts)
  • 4 oz breadcrumbs plus more for coating
  • ¼ pint water
  • ½ veg stock cube crushed into the water
  • dried herbs
  • salt or shoyu
  • pepper
  • aniseed (the secret ingredient)
  • 1 egg
  • tomato puree
