Spaghetti Bolognese

Based on this BBC good food recipe. Customisable based on what veg you have in the fridge! Can be veggie without the mince.

  • Onions
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Mushrooms
  • Garlic
  • Beef mince
  • Bacon (optional)
  • Tinned tomatoes or passata
  • Tomato puree
  • Fresh cherry tomatoes
  • Chilli
  • Basil (optional)
  • Red wine
  • Salt, pepper and sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • Red wine or balsamic vinegar

Simmer on a low heat for as long as possible – the longer, the tastier!

Serve topped with grated parmesan and with crusty garlic bread!
