Broccoli with fresh turmeric

  • Broccoli
  • Fresh turmeric
  • Almonds
  • Raisins
  • Chilli (fresh if possible)
  • Garlic
  • Sesame oil
  • Lemon juice
  • Honey
  • Salt
  • Try adding other things like maybe pomegranate seeds or segments of orange at the last minute instead of the raisins. The turmeric is the essential ingredient though.

Steam the broccoli until it is a nice bright green and then blanch in iced water and drain.

Skin the almonds and then dry toast them (they don’t go toasty just by being fried). Soak the raisins in some hot water. Peel the turmeric and cut into small disks. Cut the chilli and garlic into small chunks.

When everything is ready fry put it all up in a wok, adding the lemon juice and a little honey at the end.
